THE world's fastest man stayed in a penthouse in a popular apartment complex in West Drayton during his visit last month.

ONGOING work to renovate a historic scout hut is coming along nicely- thanks to a new lick of paint.

Work to improve the 2nd West Drayton Scout Hut in Rowan Road, West Drayton received a boost when a paint company donated their materials.


PLANS to build a block of flats in an already densely populated area have been re-submitted.

THE family of a much loved great great grandmother who last week passed away have discovered she has 100 descendants.

FIREFIGHTERS were rushed to attend a blaze last night (Sunday) at a range of derelict houses in West Drayton which took over two hours to bring under control.

Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters attended the fire in at the unoccupied terraced houses on Rutters Close, West Drayton, yesterday evening.

A BID to build a phone mast outside a British Legion bar has been rejected.

The application had been made by Vodafone, to erect a mast on the grass verge adjacent to Station Road, West Drayton.

Councillors decided the mast would be out of keeping with the West Drayton Green Conservation area, and other solutions had not been investigated.

A FURTHER £80,000 has been allocated as part of the council's ward budget initiative. Spending has been approved for several new projects, although there is still £384,500 available until the end of December. The new projects are shown by ward, which each have £25,000 to spend.

A PETITION to secure an allotment site which was subject to a break-in earlier this year has been rejected by Hillingdon Council.

The works to West Drayton Cemetery Allotment site, Rowlheys Place, West Drayton, would have cost £10,000.
