Everything from benches to flower-beds in latest ward spending spree
A FURTHER £80,000 has been allocated as part of the council's ward budget initiative. Spending has been approved for several new projects, although there is still £384,500 available until the end of December. The new projects are shown by ward, which each have £25,000 to spend.
Barnhill
£250 - grant to Warren Park Residents' Association for photocopying equipment. £6,000 - installation of a nature trail for Belmore School and children's centre. £700 - trip to Weymouth for senior
citizens of Barnhill Community Centre.
Botwell
£800 - removal of a sycamore tree at Botwell House Primary School.
Cavendish
£3,500 - numberplate recognition equipment for Safer Neighbourhoods Team. £2,000 - grant to purchase books for St Swithun Wells Junior and Infant School. £2,000 - grant to Newnham Junior School to establish a gardening club. £2,000 - security fencing at Field End Infant School. £2,000 - grant to Field End Junior School to establish a drop-in centre.
£6,000 - festive decorations for Field End Road, near Eastcote Tube station.
Eastcote and South Ruislip
£15,392 - environmental improvements across the ward. £1,900 - grant to Eastcote and East Ruislip Conservation Group. £420 - clock radios for Bishop Ramsay School. £500 - new trees to be planted in Warrender School grounds.
Harefield
£2,051 - grant to improve kitchen area of the Willow Tree Centre. Heathrow Villages. £500 - projector to facilitate open
days at The Great Barn at Harmondsworth. £1,000 - new flower-beds at Heathrow Special Needs Farm. £1,000 - camping equipment for 1st Harmondsworth Scouts for Duke of Edinburgh award. £1,500 - camping equipment and shelter for 1st Harlington Scouts. £400 - after-school activity for Heathrow and Harmondsworth Primary School in flower arranging.
Ickenham
£5,186 - lighting for St Giles' Church.
Manor
£2,200 - alley refurbishment, between Willow Grove and Shenley Avenue.
£2,394 - Ruislip Baptist Church youth activities. £3,500 - automatic numberplate recognition equipment for Safer Neighbourhood Teams.
Townfield
£2,200 - fencing repairs at Uxbridge Road/Coldharbour Lane junction. £4,000 - children's reflectors for four local primary schools.
Uxbridge South
£2,000 - three new benches at Rockingham recreation ground.
West Drayton
£3,800 - football coaching at Bell Farm Christian Centre.
