PCT scrap plans to move West Drayton doctors

Posted by Dan Coombs on Feb 2, 10 02:15 PM in Health

HILLINGDON PCT have announced they 'will not pursue' plans to move a doctor's surgery from one side of West Drayton to another.

Patients expressed outrage at the proposals to close The Green doctor's surgery, relocating it to a new development in Porter's Way, West Drayton.

A petition was raised against this idea, organised by Sandip Radia of Winchester Pharmacy, in Swan Road, which was backed by MP John Randall.

Now bowing to people power, Hillingdon PCT have decided to scrap the idea altogether.
Two public meetings will still go ahead as scheduled this week, to discuss other possible options for healthcare in the area.

These include, increasing the medical capacity at The Green, increasing capacity at Yiewsley Medical Centre, building a new healthcare facilty at Porter's Way, and the different forms it could take.

The public meetings to be held at the Women's Institute building on The Green on Wednesday 3 February at 2pm and Thursday 4 February at 6pm will go ahead to give people the opportunity to find out more about possible options and healthcare in the local area.

We'd like to hear from you.
