West Drayton car-jacker to admits drug crime
A JAILED carjacker has been convicted again - this time for attempting to deal drugs.
Dev Sandhu, 22, was sentenced to seven-and-a-half years last summer for his involvement in a gang which robbed a motorist in West Drayton at gunpoint, then burgled a house nearby on the same night back in 2010.
But while on trial last April at Harrow Crown Court for the Lavender Rise and Mulberry Crescent offences, two people - one of them a prison officer - were caught attempting to smuggle heroin to Sandhu.
.
Dean Nelder, 28, a prison security officer from Acton tried to hand over the drugs in return for £400 cash.
He was sentenced to four years in jail, while co-conspirator Matthew Talbutt, 20, from Harrow, who was spotted handing Nelder the drugs outside court, was handed a 21-month sentence on Friday, January 20.
Sandhu will appear again before the court on Friday, February 3, to be sentenced for two charges of conspiracy to supply drugs into the prisons estate, which he has admitted
