Fire your questions at a panel of guests consisting of Labour's Val Shawcross, London assembly member and running mate to Ken Livingstone in the elections on May 3; Mike Cox, Former Hillingdon Councillor and Lib Dem candidate for the Ealing and Hillingdon London Assembly seat; The Green Party's Natalie Bennett; and Councillor Dominic Gilham (Cons, Yiewsley).

The event is being held on Thursday, March 15 between 2-4pm at the West Drayton Women's Institute (W.I) hall, in The Green, West Drayton.

A HARD-FOUGHT planning appeal that centres on the services offered at a former opticians in West Drayton will be decided within the next six weeks.

Until 2009, Colne Park House, in Colham Mill Road, West Drayton, was Crockford Mills opticians.

The property is now leased by the Heathrow Education and Welfare Association (HEWA), which wants to turn it into a community centre and place of worship.

The Mayor of London planted a Field Maple on the green at the end of Bell Avenue, with the help of youngsters from the 5th Hayes scouts.

HOMEOWNERS in West Drayton are among those most likely to make a burglary insurance claim, according to research.

Based on more than three million quotes given through the comparison website MoneySupermarket.com, figures show that people living in the UB7 postal districts - West Drayton, Harmondsworth, Sipson, Yiewsley and Longford - made the 12th highest average number of claims for thefts and break-ins in the UK. This was 26.4 for every 1,000 enquiries.

The study analysed claims made in the year to the end of November 2011.

Stoke Newington, in north-east London, topped the charts with 33.6 claims, and six areas in the capital come in the top 20.

The Middlesex branch of the Inland Waterways Association has cancelled its meeting scheduled for Tuesday of next week at the Canal Club off Waterloo Road because it was unable to book a guest speaker.

A WOMAN has been charged with attempting to steal metal piping from a derelict pub.
Teri Carroll, 23, of Birmingham, appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court in relation to theft from The Swan Pub in Swan Road, West Drayton, which is empty and awaiting demolition as part of a scheme to build flats.
Ms Carroll has been bailed to reappear at the court on Tuesday, March 6.

A TEENAGER has been charged with GBH after a man was assaulted with a hammer.
The attack happened on Monday last week and the 17-year-old was arrested and appeared at Uxbridge Youth Court on Thursday last week.
He denied the charge but was remanded in custody, to re-appear tomorrow (Thursday, February 2) for a bail hearing.

THE mother of a man stabbed to death in a samurai sword attack minutes after his attackers' car had been stopped by police is calling for a change in the law.

Christopher Mills, 22, was killed at his West Drayton home in January 2006 by two men brandishing the weapons.

His killers, Neil Moran and Gavin Ward, had been stopped just 11 minutes before when they were spotted driving erratically. But officers did not search the vehicle and the pair continued on the short drive to Christopher's flat.
